This is going to be a short and bittersweet post.<\/p>\n
I’ve been very happy at SRCS<\/span> and will miss many wonderful people and aspects of my job there.<\/p>\n But when you know you need to move on… you really know. Doesn’t matter whether you lift your head like Mary Poppins and feel the wind change (here<\/a>‘s a crazy thread for you) or try to describe it the way Joni Mitchell did<\/a>. <\/p>\n In this instance, while I’ve had an extended portfolio and opportunities to develop .NET applications even though I was technically the DBA, I felt the need to assume a role where I was really expected to do that type of thing, full-on. <\/p>\n I want to spend my day designing and building software, developing new techniques, and enabling software teams with new tools.<\/strong><\/p>\n So, I’m going to do that. Starting tomorrow, I am Principal Software Architect for the portal framework in Info<\/span>r Enwisen HR Service Delivery<\/a>.<\/p>\n While there will still be a lot of scope for data-centric (or at least data-integration-centric) work in this role, I imagine that the focus of this blog will change, somewhat. <\/p>\n Expect a short lull, first.
