{"id":16,"date":"2021-07-21T07:43:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T07:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/lisa\/post\/2021\/07\/21\/in-search-of-lost-time.aspx"},"modified":"2021-08-14T12:57:11","modified_gmt":"2021-08-14T19:57:11","slug":"in-search-of-lost-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacefold.com\/lisa\/2021\/07\/21\/in-search-of-lost-time\/","title":{"rendered":"In Search of Lost Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, I am reading <a title=\"on memory, and memories\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/In_Search_of_Lost_Time\">Proust<\/a> right now.\u00a0 But that isn&#8217;t what I&#8217;m writing about.<\/p>\n<h2>Last Week<\/h2>\n<p>It is only about three and a half years since I wrote a post called <a title=\"Zach came to us\" href=\"\/lisa\/2018\/02\/11\/this-week\/\">This Week<\/a>.\u00a0 Now Zachary Tea is gone.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t enough time.\u00a0 But it was time spent the way he wanted.<\/p>\n<p>Colin has written <a href=\"\/colin\/blog\/2021\/07\/19\/zachary\/\">this<\/a>\u00a0about how it happened.\u00a0 There is not much I want to add.<\/p>\n<p>Zach, we hope your last three and a half years erased the miserable beginning of your life: a year\u00a0abandoned in the Napa fires, scarring your lungs as you\u00a0scrounged\u00a0along your solitary way, and then a year in a shelter, both physically and mentally uncomfortable, but never, it seems, afraid of anything.<\/p>\n<p>From the moment you met us, you were\u00a0entirely ours and we belonged to you. You were immediately delighted, and then, very soon, completely in charge.\u00a0 I never got over my own initial surprise and enchantment, but my body got used to your delicious presence nestled into it, every day, asserting your rights and chirping your happiness.
