\nI found a couple of things on the 'web today that I found disturbing*.\n<\/p>\n
\nThe first is a short, amateur produced documentary on what really
\nhappened in Portland, OR, in 2002, when a supposedly peaceful
\ndemonstration was broken up by Police. At the time it was reported as
\n"the demonstration turned violent" but somehow the producers of the
\nfilm got their hands on the authorities' own videotapes of the
\nincident. Narrated by someone who says they were there at the protest.\n<\/p>\n
\nThis is What A Police State Looks Like<\/a>\n<\/p>\n \nThe second is the results of the New Hampshire Democratic Primary \n\tWhy should exit polls be reliable result indicators everywhere except where electronic voting machines are used?\n\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n \n\tWhy should the EVM results be biased in favor of any particular candidate?\n\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n \nWe ignore questions like this at our peril. It doesn't have to be
\nelection. Many people have commented on the variations between exit
\npoll numbers and actual vote counts when comparing manual counting with
\nthe results reported from electronic voting machines. The fundimental
\npoints are:\n<\/p>\n\n
\nconspiracy but we'd better know what is really happening. I have no
\nopinion on whether there was any actual vote rigging taking place. I'm
\nnot qualified. However it is really encouraging to see people from
\naround the country collaborate online on ad-hoc analysis projects such
\nas this one:
